Who is this for
The safety course on practice track is for those in step 3 of the driver training programme who have passed the step 2 assessment. The course is mandatory for all class B driving licence applicants, whether you live in Asker, Baerum, Lier or Sandvika.
Course fee for instruction and car. Track rental of 1 550 kr (NAF) is added separately.

You drive in a school car. Regular clothes and shoes are all you need. We provide the car and equipment.

Slippery surface driving is the popular name for the safety course on practice track, which has been the official name since 2005. It is a mandatory part of step 3 in the class B driver training programme. The course takes place on a closed NAF practice track and consists of four parts: a brief theory introduction, a safety hall module (securing cargo and passengers), approximately 90 minutes of practical driving on the track, and a closing reflection with fellow students and instructor.
Yes, the safety course on practice track is mandatory for all class B driving licence applicants in Norway. It is established in the traffic training regulations and is completed towards the end of step 3. You cannot take the driving test without completing the course.
The course fee for slippery surface driving at Elevens at Borgen is 5 000 kr. In addition, track rental of 1 550 kr is paid to NAF for use of the practice track. Slippery surface driving is included in our complete packages. Check the complete class B package to see if you can save.
The course has three main parts. In the safety hall, you experience the forces at play during a collision and learn about seatbelts, headrests and child safety. On the track, you drive on different surfaces (straight stretches, curves and hills) and practise emergency braking, evasive manoeuvres with moving obstacles, and steering when the car loses grip. You also learn how the car's safety systems (such as ABS) work in practice. The course ends with a group reflection.
Slippery surface driving is completed towards the end of step 3 in the driver training programme, after you have passed the step 2 assessment and have solid driving experience. After slippery surface driving, you continue with the step 3 assessment and the safety course on road (step 4) before you can take the driving test.
The course takes place at a NAF practice track, a professional closed facility with practice areas for curves, hills and straight stretches. The course consists of 4 teaching hours of 45 minutes each, 180 minutes total. These are divided between a theory introduction (approx. 15 min), safety hall (approx. 30 to 45 min), practical driving on the track (approx. 90 min) and a closing reflection. Allow extra time for breaks and travel to and from the track.
