Mandatory safety course on practice track for class B

Experience how the car behaves on dry, wet and slippery surfaces. Drive on straight stretches, curves and hills under controlled conditions on the track.
Practise emergency braking and evasive manoeuvres with moving obstacles. Understand the connection between speed, braking distance and road grip. You also learn how ABS and other safety systems work in practice.
Experience the forces at play during a collision in the safety hall. Learn about seatbelts, headrests, child safety and what happens to loose cargo during an emergency stop.

Slippery surface driving on a closed NAF track: braking, steering and evasive manoeuvres on slippery surfaces, plus securing of cargo and passengers in the safety hall. 4 teaching hours under controlled conditions.
Risk driving in real traffic: planning, driving in varied environments, and reflecting on your choices as a driver. Completed on the road with an instructor. The final mandatory step before the driving test.
Who is this for
The safety course on practice track is for those in step 3 of the driver training programme who have passed the step 2 assessment. The course is mandatory for all class B driving licence applicants in Norway and gives you practical experience with driving in challenging conditions.
Course fee for instruction and car. Track rental of 1 550 kr (NAF) is added separately.
Slippery surface driving is part of step 3 in the mandatory driver training programme.
Praktisk informasjon
4 teaching hours of 45 min (180 min total). The course includes a theory introduction, safety hall, practical driving and a closing reflection.
Completed at a NAF practice track, a closed facility with practice areas for curves, hills and straight stretches.
Course fee: 4 800 kr. In addition, track rental of 1 550 kr (NAF) applies.
You drive in a school car. Regular clothes and shoes are all you need. We provide the car and equipment.
You should have solid driving experience from steps 2 and 3. Step 2 assessment should be passed.
